What is Hopeful Pakistan foundation?

“When   I was a young man, I wanted to change the world. I found it was difficult to change the world. So I tried to change my nation. When I found I could not change my nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn’t   change the town and as an older man I tried to change my family. Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is  myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world.”

What is Hopeful Pakistan foundation?

Hopeful Pakistan Foundation (HPF) is a voluntary, nonpolitical, non sectarian and non profitable organization formed by a group of highly motivated, dedicated, focused Pakistanis to promote a positive mind set and  productive activities in various sectors in the context of the present scenario.

HPF aspires to be a beacon of hope for people especially for those who see little hope in the current stressful circumstances by raising their self esteem, self awareness and skills to play a proactive and value based part in developments in health, education and social sector.

Why Hopeful Pakistan Foundation?

We are living in an era of diverse problems and challenges dominated by poverty, illiteracy, corruption, unemployment, terrorism and deteriorating law and order. The reputation of the country and morale of the nation has suffered as a result. A constructive concern with the prevailing situation is, therefore, understandable and is necessary for taking some useful action individually and collectively.

Destructive negative emotions though are difficult to justify and in fact put us into further downward spiral of inertia, non productivity and poor quality of life. We need to do the necessary problem solving whenever and wherever possible but many of these issues may be beyond our control or influence.

The choice to think, feel and act in response to these problems, however, is  purely under our voluntary control. The choice is purely ours! Many of us are, however, sadly choosing destructive and unhealthy emotions like pessimism, hopelessness, anger and anxiety in the present circumstances.

The youth has especially been affected and is in danger of losing purpose and direction of life. This necessitates initiating a meaningful action by everyone to instill hope and prevent this precious possession of ours from falling prey to depression, anxiety and other mental health problems. We also need focused action in other areas like education, health, agriculture, labor and brain drain to contribute in the national rebuilding.

We need to foster values like hope, happiness, honesty, hard work, optimism, peace, patience , purpose, enthusiasm, education, equality, faith, forgiveness, unity, learning, problem solving, prosperity, awareness and presence, commitment & action, knowledge, keenness, inspiration, sincerity, skillfulness, simplicity, tolerance, autonomy, authenticity, accountability, non violence, no to negativity, no to corruption- to create a Hopeful Pakistan.
